Technique
The wall walk starts in a push-up position with your feet against a wall; you walk your feet up the wall and your hands back toward it until you are close to a handstand, then walk back down. It builds shoulder strength, core stability and confidence upside down.
Steps
- Lie face down with your feet against the wall and push up into a plank
- Walk your feet up the wall while stepping your hands back toward it
- Go as close to the wall as you can control, keeping the core tight and arms locked
- Walk the hands out and the feet down to return to the plank
Common mistakes
- Letting the lower back sag into an arch
- Walking the hands too close before you have the strength
Variations
- Partial wall walk
- Wall-facing handstand hold
