Technique
Step on the center of a resistance band and hold the ends. Curl your hands toward your shoulders as you would with dumbbells. The band increases resistance at the top of the movement. Lower under control.
Steps
- Stand on the center of the band with your feet secure
- Hold the band ends with your palms facing forward
- Keep your elbows close to your sides
- Curl your hands toward your shoulders
- Squeeze your biceps at the top
- Lower your hands under control to the starting position
Common mistakes
- Letting the elbows drift forward during the curl
- Using torso momentum to lift the band
- Allowing the band to snap the hands downward
- Standing unevenly on the band and creating unequal resistance
Variations
- Single-arm resistance band curl
- Alternating resistance band curl
- Hammer-grip resistance band curl
- Seated resistance band curl
